After the Spanish conquered the Incan empire, they saw
little reason to preserve their magnificent culture, and were greedy for their
wealth that was not in their culture. However, the survival of their official
language, Quecha, and few residual traces concludes that their empire was not
completely destroyed from history. Today, many of the traditions
the Inca are still implemented by people who live in the Andes. Textile making
is still popular, the traditional foods they ate are still consumed around the
world and famous archaeological sites like Machu Picchu and the Nazca Lines are
popular tourist attractions. The Incan civilisation was such a powerful and strong empire that its legacy has continued for centuries.
