The Incan civilisation had minimal contact between other
societies. The majority of interactions the Incas had with other civilisations
were usually for expansion and confliction purposes. The Incas frequently went
into other territories to negotiate land premises, political alliances and
trade. The Incas had built thousands of kilometres of roads made form paved
stones, for communities to communicate to each other by runners or ‘chaskis’
who would to relay stations. Their first
contact between the conquering Spaniards introduced new diseases that wiped 90%
of the Incan population; consequently, the great civilisation fell to the
technological advanced Spaniards.
